Director, Assessment & Evaluation
Primary Function:
Under the direction of the Chief Academic Officer, organize, deliver, direct and evaluate the services and staff of the EL Program/English Learner Support, to coordinate Supplemental Educational Service and to oversee the district’s Title 1 and Title 3 programs. To coordinate and manage the district-wide English learner program; Provide instructional leadership/professional development focused upon meeting the needs of the district’s English language learners and the implementation of the new ELD standards; Develop and provide leadership to the district’s implementation of the English Learner Master Plan; Build leadership capacity to support the specific needs of English learners, and provide oversight to the English learner program evaluation.
Essential Functions:
- Coordinate Supplemental Educational Service providers for each school site: contracts, facilities use, services, etc.
- Coordinate Title 1 and Title 3 programs.
- Maintain and organize student learning plans in conjunction with school site liaisons (Assistant Principals).
- Maintain attendance records and statements for billing purposes for Homeless and SES programs.
- Coordinate with CEC and Assessment for Homeless and SES programs.
- Coordinate and consult with Private schools for support services.
- Responsible for Federal Program Monitoring for Title 1 to ensure compliance.
- Provide oversight and evaluation of district’s Assessment Team for NWEA benchmark assessments and scheduling at school sites.
- Plans, organizes and directs EL services for the district.
- Serves as the Division of Teaching and Learning liaison with the English Learner Program Administrators.
- Facilitate the District English Learner Advisory Committee (DELAC).
- Facilitate the English learner reclassification process and ensure the accuracy of student data.
- Responsible for the administration of CELDT/ELPAC testing for all English learners.
- Provide oversight, coordination and evaluate the district’s Assessment Team and their support of the EL program.
- Provide leadership/accountability for the district’s Title 1 and Title 3 programs.
- Responsible for Federal Program Monitoring for English learners to ensure compliance.
- Provide leadership for the district’s translation and interpretation services.
- Facilitate the transition of English learners from elementary to middle school and middle to high school.
- Facilitate the Primary Language Assessment and coordinate the Primary Language Assessors.
- Working with the technology department to ensure the accuracy of English learner data in CALPADS.
- Working with Assessment Data Analyst to collect and analyze English learner specific data for school sites.
- Develop training programs for EL personnel.
- Operate a computer and assigned software programs.
- Operate other office equipment as assigned.
- Operate a vehicle to conduct work.
- Attend and conduct a variety of meetings as assigned
- Perform related duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:
Education and Experience Required:
Any combination equivalent to: Master’s degree (Bachelor’s degree may be accepted) in Educational Leadership and five years of teaching experience.
Licenses and Other Requirements:
- Valid California Class C driver’s license
