Dear NHUSD Families,
It is the time of year when our site-based groups, such as school site councils, are becoming active. Joining one of our site-based groups is a great way to get involved with your student’s school.
At the district level, one of our goals (Goal 4) focuses on community outreach, engagement, and advocacy. Over the past two years we have been working steadily to make progress toward this goal. For example, last year we put structures in place to make sure that the district’s Equity Council is made up of site-selected people from all of our school sites. This year, we have taken an additional step by having our Coordinator of Equity, Access, and Achievement oversee the coordination of our different parent outreach groups. I have included a list of some of these groups and their meeting dates below:
- Equity Council: Next Meeting – Tuesday, Sept 20, 2022 at 4-5 p.m.
- Punjabi Parent Advisory Group: Next Meeting – Tuesday, Sept 20 at 6:30- 8 p.m.
- Latino Parent Advisory Committee: Next Meeting – Thursday, Sept 22 at 4:30- 5:30
- DELAC: Next Meeting – Thursday Sept 29, 5-7 p.m.
- District African American Advisory: Next Meeting – Monday, October 3 at 6-7:30 p.m.
Please feel free to join us at any of these meetings. All of these meetings will be held in person at our Educational Services Center (ESC), at 34200 Alvarado-Niles Rd, Union City.

Estimadas familias de NHUSD,
Es la época del año en que nuestros grupos escolares, tales como los consejos escolares, se activan. Unirse a uno de nuestros grupos escolares es una gran manera de participar en la escuela de su hijo(a).
A nivel del distrito, una de nuestras metas (Meta 4) se enfoca en enlazar a la comunidad, el compromiso y la abogacía. Durante los dos últimos años hemos trabajado de forma constante para avanzar hacia esta meta. Por ejemplo, el año pasado establecimos estructuras para garantizar que el Consejo de Equidad del distrito esté compuesto por personas seleccionadas de todas nuestras escuelas. Este año, hemos dado un paso adicional al hacer que nuestro Coordinador de Equidad, Acceso y Aprovechamiento supervise la coordinación de nuestros diferentes grupos para padres. He incluido una lista de algunos de estos grupos y sus fechas de reunión a continuación:
- Consejo de Equidad: Próxima reunión – martes 20 de septiembre de 2022, 4-5 p.m.
- Grupo Asesor de Padres Punjabi: Próxima reunión – martes 20 de septiembre, 6:30- 8 p.m.
- Comité Asesor de Padres Latinos: Próxima reunión – jueves 22 de septiembre, 4:30- 5:30
- DELAC: Próxima reunión – Jueves 29 de septiembre, 5-7 p.m.
- Comité Asesor Afroamericano del Distrito: Próxima reunión – lunes 3 de octubre, 6-7:30 p.m.
