A message in support of our Afghan community

STATEMENT FROM THE NHUSD IN SUPPORT OF OUR AFGHAN COMMUNITY

Dear NHUSD Community,

Our local Afghan families and residents are an important part of who we are as a district and as a community. What we all see happening in Afghanistan right now is tragic. We know that many of our families and community members are worried about family and friends who are in Afghanistan. We also know that many are heartbroken over the possibility that the positive gains made in Afghanistan related to civil liberties and women’s rights may disappear.

As a district, we come together during difficult times and support those in need. Our Afghan community is in need now and we stand behind our Afghan students, staff, and families. Our schools are prepared to assist families experiencing distress, and I encourage students and families to reach out to our school sites if you need help so that we can assist you.

Sincerely,

John Thompson, Ed.D.

Superintendent

Atentamente,

John Thompson, Ed.D.

Superintendente
