 Enrollment of Students in Transitional Kindergarten and Kindergarten

 

  1. Come into the Central Enrollment Center prepared to enroll your student.
    1. Bring documents to verify home address. 
    2. Bring picture identification.
    3. Bring proof of immunizations.
  2. Meet with an Enrollment Clerk to enroll student.
  3. Welcome to New Haven... Start school!

 

2019-2020 Transitional Kindergarten Cut-Off Dates

  1. Pick-up an enrollment packet at the Central Enrollment Center.
  2. Schedule an enrollment appointment for a later date.
  3. Complete an enrollment packet.
  4. Schedule a doctors appointment for a physical exam (kindergarten or if you child is being enrolled in a California public school for the first time) and verification of immunizations.
  5. Attend your enrollment appointment and bring documents to verify home address, picture identification, and proof of immunizations.
  6. Welcome to New Haven... School Starts August 10, 2020!
 

 

Enrollment of Students in Grades 1 through 12

 

  1. Come into the Central Enrollment Center with documents verifying home address and picture identification. 
  2. If your student is being enrolled in a California public school for the first time, proof of immunizations is required.
  3. Meet with an Enrollment Clerk to enroll student.
  4. Welcome to New Haven... Start school!

Intra-District Transfers (Transfers between New Haven Schools)

Intra-district transfers are transfers between New Haven schools for students already enrolled in New Haven.

  • For the 2020-2021 school year, requests must be filed by March 20, 2020 for consideration in the selection process on March 30, 2020.
  • Late requests received after March 20, 2020 will still considered after July 27, 2020, if space is available at the requested school.
  • Information regarding intra-district transfers, including conditions for approval and procedures, Administrative Regulation for Board Policy #S-5116.1
  1. Come into the Central Enrollment Center to complete an Intra-District Transfer request form.
  2. Approval of transfer request is dependent on space at requested school.
  1. Come into the Central Enrollment Center to complete an Intra-District Transfer request form. Students who are new to New Haven may fill this form out during their Enrollment Appointment.
  2. Intra-District Transfer requests are accepted beginning January 6, 2020 thru March 20, 2020. The intra-district selection process will take place on March 30, 2020.
  3. Late requests received after March 20, 2020 will be considered if space is available after July 27, 2020.

Inter-District Transfers (Transfers into New Haven Schools)

Inter-district transfers are student transfers into New Haven schools for students living in another school district.

  • For current school year requests (2019-2020), a final decision will be provided to families within 30 calendar days from the receipt of the request.
  • For future year requests (2020-2021), a final decision will be provide as soon as possible, but no later than 14 calendar days following the beginning of the 2020-2021 school year.
  • Alameda County school districts begin approving inter-district transfers on March 1.
  • Information regarding inter-district transfers, including conditions for approval, conditions for revocation and rescission, and procedures, Administrative Regulation for Board Policy #S-5117.
 
Inter-District Transfer Enrollment of Transitional Kindergarten and Kindergarten
  1. Complete an inter-district transfer request and submit it to your resident district's Student Services department.
  2. After receiving approval from your resident district, New Haven will review your request to decide on approval into New Haven.
  3. After receiving approval from New Haven, come into the Central Enrollment Center to fill out enrollment packet.
  4. Meet with an Enrollment Clerk to enroll your student.
  5. Welcome to New Haven... Start school!

  2. Schedule an enrollment appointment.
  3. Complete an enrollment packet.
  4. Complete the inter-district transfer agreement and submit it to your resident district's Student Services department for approval.
  5. Schedule a doctors appointment for a physical exam (kindergarten or if you child is being enrolled in a California public school for the first time) and verification of immunizations.
  6. Attend your enrollment appointment and bring documents to verify home address, picture identification, and proof of immunizations.
  7. After receiving approval from your resident district, New Haven will finalize your enrollment into New Haven.
  8. Welcome to New Haven... School Starts August 10, 2020!

  2. After receiving approval from your resident district, New Haven will review your request and decide on your approval into New Haven.
  3. After receiving approval from New Haven, come into the Central Enrollment Center to fill out enrollment packet.
  4. Meet with an Enrollment Clerk to enroll your student.

  2. Schedule an enrollment appointment.
  3. Complete an enrollment packet.
  4. Complete an inter-district transfer agreement and submit it to your resident district's Student Services department for approval.
  5. Attend enrollment appointment and bring documents to verify home address and picture identification.
  6. After receiving approval from your resident district, New Haven will finalize your enrollment into New Haven.

Two-Way Dual Immersion Programs in New Haven  [Click Here for Information]

Spanish:  For the 2020-2021 school year, Searles Elementary School offers Two-Way Dual Immersion classes in Spanish for Transitional Kindergarten, Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd Grades.

 

Mandarin:  For the 2020-2021 school year, Guy Emanuele Elementary School Offers Two-Way Dual Immersion classes in Mandarin for Transitional Kindergarten and Kindergarten.
