Board Briefs for Tuesday, April 17, 2018
At Tuesday night’s meeting, Chief Business Officer Annette Heldman provided the Board with an update on the financial impact of the agreement made with the California School Employees Association (CSEA).
The District and CSEA have agreed on a 3-year collective bargaining agreement, which includes a salary settlement for 2017/18 comprising of 2% on-schedule retroactive to January 1, 2018, and 2% off-schedule, one-time bonus.
By Government Code, the District is required to publicly disclose the provisions and the cost of the agreement. Additionally, the District Superintendent and Chief Business Official are required to certify to the County Office of Education that the District has the ability to meet the financial obligations of the agreement.
The financial analysis and the certifications will be submitted to the Alameda County office of education for review.
