District Administration and NHTA bargaining teams have engaged in 9 negotiations sessions over the past several months and while making progress in a number of areas, District Administration is disappointed to report that NHTA declared impasse today. This declaration came as a complete surprise considering the District Administration once again made a good faith proposal related to compensation that incorporated some one-time dollars made available through the Governor’s recent January budget proposal for 2018-19. Specifically, the District Administration made the following offer today:
- 2% salary increase added to the salary schedule effective January 1, 2018;
- $1,000 one-time stipend per full time unit member, pro-rated for part time members; and
- Re-openers for salary article in 2018-19, 2019-20
The forgoing proposal represents an increase of over $700,000 from the District Administration's last financial proposal made on December 11, 2017. Despite the District Administration's movement, NHTA did not provide a counter proposal and decided to instead declare impasse. Although disappointed to have not received a counter proposal, the District Administration remains committed to working with NHTA to secure a successor agreement during the next step of the negotiation process. District Administration values the employees in this district and want to get this done.
