Next Meeting to Discuss Racial Tensions on School Campuses Scheduled for April 17th

As the District continues in its attempts to address issues of group-related tensions that spill over to our campuses, we have scheduled our next Community Meeting for Monday, April 17th. The meeting will begin at 6:00 PM at the District Office.

The issues that manifest on our campuses are deeply seeded and long held. The District has been working in collaboration with the City Union City leadership to address the situation. It may seem as though this is a matter germane to high schools. Quite the contrary. These seem to be issues that take place away from campuses with campus being the convenient meeting place.

At the April 17 meeting, the focus will be on strategizing potential options that will, at a minimum, begin the dialogue about the impacts of violence on the schools and the community as a whole.
