Last Day of School, Thursday, June 13

The last day of school for the 2018-19 school year is Thursday, June 13.

The first day of school for the 2019-20 school year is Wednesday, August 21, 2019.

Upcoming Promotion and Graduation Ceremonies

The Promotion Ceremony for Cesar Chavez Middle School Eighth Graders will be held on Wednesday, June 12, at 4:00 p.m. at the Logan Stadium.

The Promotion Ceremony for Itliong-Vera Cruz Middle School Eighth Graders will be held on Thursday, June 13, at 3:00 p.m. at the Logan Stadium

The James Logan High School Graduation Ceremony will be held on Saturday, June 15, beginning at 9:00 a.m. at the Logan Stadium.  Tickets are needed to enter the stadium.

NHAS Residential and In-Home Caregiver Training Starting Soon

The next start date for New Haven Adult School's Residential & In-Home Caregiver Training program (ResCare) in Union City, CA is June 25, 2019.  Our first new student orientation is this Monday, May 27th.

This 7-Week Summer ResCare program includes:  Caregiver Training + CPR Cert + Job Placement Assistance (with an 84% job placement rating)! It's also on the ETPL!

Mission Valley SELPA Public Hearing, Monday, June 17

The Mission Valley SELPA (Special Education Local Plan Area) will be holding a public hearing on Monday, June 17, 2019, from 8:00 - 9:00 a.m. at the Fremont Unified School District Office, located at 4210 Technology Drive, Fremont, CA.  The agenda for the meeting can be found here.

JLHS Athletics Presents 33rd Annual Summer Camps!

The James Logan High School Athletic Program is proud to offer its 33rd Annual Summer Camps.  Sports offered this summer (subject to change) are Badminton, Boys Basketball, Football, Girls Basketball, Girls Volleyball, Boys Water Polo, Girls Water Polo, Swimming, Track & Field, Cross Country, Wrestling!  Please click here for more information.

Union City Family Center:

Alameda County Food Bank Distribution will be available at the Union City Family Center on the following dates/times during the summer: Tuesday, July 16 & July 30 from 2:30 pm - 4:30 pm (PRODUCE ONLY).  Regular food distribution days/times will resume every Tuesday beginning August 13 from 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm at the Union City Family Center. Family Game Night at UCFC Cancelled 6/14/19:

Due to all the end of the year events and graduations, Family Game Night will be cancelled this Friday, June 14th.  We look forward to seeing our families again in the Fall. Have a great Summer!

2019 Summer Enrichment:

UCFC has connected 20 NHUSD students from Searles, Emanuele, Hillview, Alvarado, Pioneer, Kitayama, IVCMS and CCMS to take part of OVY (Optimist Volunteers for Youth). OVY Camp is open to all rising 5th – 9th graders in the San Francisco Bay Area regardless of economic background.  It's a 6 days/5 nights nature camp located in the San Gregorio area. OVY camp builds community and connecting youth with Nature. OVY provides youth with an opportunity to make friends, reach their full potential and make life long memories. Week 1- starts June 16-June 21st. The 5th week is from July 14th-19th. Each session has (NHUSD) 2- boys and 2- girls attending. NHUSD also has 2 CIT (Counselors In Training) both from JLHS who will volunteer their summer with campers.

Ages 0-5 Play Days at UCFC:

UCFC will be hosting a series of morning activities for kids ages 0-5. Starting Wednesdays in July at 8:30 am parents and their children will be able to participate in joint interactive learning sessions. Please click here for more information. We hope to see you there!
